The eight classifications of membership are meant to meet the diverse needs of the
medical management profession.
- Active Member
Active membership may be held by one who is a member in an executive capacity of the administrative staff and who participates in the business affairs of a clinic or medical group within the State of Michigan.
- Associate Member
An associate member shall be a full-time member of the administrative staff of a clinic which is represented in this Association by an active member in good standing, or a full-time member of the administrative staff of a clinic from outside the State of Michigan.
- Honorary Member
An honorary membership may be conferred upon any active member or associate member who has become disassociated from clinic administration. Such honorary membership shall be conferred only if in the judgement of the Association such member has rendered outstanding service to this Association or the profession of clinic management. Honorary membership shall be renewed at each annual meeting.
- Inactive Member
Any active member in good standing who becomes disassociated from clinic administration may apply for inactive membership in the Association and if such application is approved, may continue such inactive membership for a period of three years. At the end of three years, an inactive member may submit an application for extension of this period.
- Life Member
A life membership may be granted to an Active or Inactive member in good standing who becomes permanently disassociated from clinic administration and who has been a member of the Association for at least fifteen (15) years; or one who retires because of age or disability and who has been a member of the Association for at least ten (10) years.
- International Member
Any clinic manager from a foreign country who meets the same requirements as an Active Member from the United States may become an International Member of the Michigan MGMA.
- Affiliated Member
Any vendor of products and or services who wishes to become associated with the Michigan MGMA.
- Allied Member
Any individual or organization which does not fall into any of the other membership categories.
